Cantina AI
Creating a character is the first step. Giving people a reason to come back is the business.

What people can create
Cantina is a social AI platform for characters with their own appearance, personality and voice. Users can interact with them in real time, make videos and share those creations outside the app.
There is a safety layer too
Cantina describes a combination of AI tools, human moderation and user controls. It also discusses tracing generated content and distinguishing synthetic creations from human ones. That matters when characters and content can travel beyond the original conversation.
What I would test technically
I would follow one character through a long conversation, a voice interaction and a video. Does it still feel like the same character? Consistency across those surfaces is a more demanding test than a single impressive clip.
Memory, response speed and safety decisions all affect that experience. A system can remember something accurately and still use it in an uncomfortable way. I would want users to understand what is remembered and have control over it.
I would also test how moderation handles context. Fiction, humour and impersonation can look similar in a short excerpt. The product needs ways to handle mistakes and appeals without making the experience confusing.
The business model and moat
The commercial question I would ask is what users would willingly pay for over time: creative tools, richer interactions or a character they keep developing. Those are possible sources of value, not a claim about Cantina’s current revenue mix.
I see a possible if creators bring audiences and those audiences encourage more creation. Sharing outside the app could help discovery. It also raises a question: does the relationship stay with Cantina or with the platform where the video is watched?
The financial test would pair repeat use with the cost of generating each interaction. Longer sessions are only commercially helpful if they create enough value to support the cost of serving them.
My take
I would look for people building something they care about, rather than trying a novelty once. A strong creator community could become harder to copy than the underlying model. Trust and creative continuity would be central to that direction.
