Firmable

An agent is only as useful as the information it acts on.

Data first, actions next

Firmable describes three connected layers. It collects and refreshes company and contact data. It identifies events such as leadership changes, hiring and funding. Then agents use those signals to prioritise accounts, enrich records and draft outreach.

Its data pipeline combines web aggregation, language-model extraction and . That last step joins records that refer to the same real company or person, despite differences in how they are written.

My analysis

The technical details I care about

I would test freshness and matching separately. A record can describe the right person and still list their old employer. It can also be recent but attached to the wrong company.

For buying signals, I would ask how well the system separates a real change from duplicate coverage of the same event. Then I would trace an automated action back to its source. A sales team should be able to understand why an account was prioritised.

A funding announcement does not mean someone wants a sales call. Useful automation needs a good interpretation of the signal, plus controls on what gets sent. Otherwise, better data can simply produce more unwanted messages.

My analysis

The business model and moat

I see the buyer paying for more productive selling time and better account selection. The commercial test is whether that changes the quality of conversations, rather than just increasing the size of a contact list.

The possible moat is a data operation that improves continuously: collection, matching, verification and corrections feeding back into the product. Owning a dataset helps only if its quality stays ahead of alternatives.

I would compare the cost of keeping each useful record current with the value it creates. I would also test how easily customers can bring Firmable into their existing workflow. Accurate data that never reaches the salesperson is an unfinished product.

My analysis

My take

I like the order of operations. Get the information right, then let the agent act. The strongest direction would make that link visible: this source changed, this account became relevant, and this is the sensible next step. That is a much clearer reason to trust the product.
